The 250th anniversary of the United States marks a pivotal moment to celebrate the nation’s founding.
In anticipation of this significant event, the Florida Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial was established. Its mission is to plan, encourage, develop and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. This includes highlighting Florida’s profound influence on the nation’s past, present and future.
Executive Order 24-267 officially created an advisory commission to oversee Florida’s observance of America’s Semiquincentennial anniversary of independence. Furthermore, it directs the Secretary of State and relevant divisions within the Florida Department of State to organize celebrations leading up to and on July 4th, 2026.
